The Vicariate V Ministerial Commission was formed in 1996 to provide opportunities for spiritual growth and training for voluntary leadership in Catholic parishes in the southwest region of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Under the leadership of the then - Bishop John Gorman, professional and pastoral leaders worked collaboratively to bring quality workshops and experiences of the people of God to local parishes.
Since then, more than 20,000 lay leaders have participated in these training opportunities, expanding the wealth of parish life and deepening their personal spirituality. Today, commissioners continue and meet as a Vicariate leadership team, to serve as liaisons for local pastors, to read the signs of the times and use their gifts and talents to help build Vital Catholic Parishes.
If you have ideas for courses or workshops, or if there is a presenter that you would love to hear live and in person, please contact the Ministerial Commission. Our purpose is to serve by ACCOMPANING our pastors and parishioners on their journey to BELIEVE, BELONG, and BECOME Catholic disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.
