About Our Ministry Commission – Contact Us
The Vicariate V Ministry Commission was formed in 1996 to provide opportunities for training and spiritual growth for the volunteer leadership in Catholic parishes in the southwest region of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Under the leadership of then – Bishop John Gorman, professional pastoral leaders worked collaboratively to bring quality workshops and experiences to the people of God in local parishes.
Since that time, more than 20,000 lay leaders have participated in these formation opportunities, expanding the richness of parish life and deepening their personal spirituality. Today, Commissioners continue to gather as a Vicariate leadership team, to help actualize the Bishop and Deans pastoral plan, to serve as liaisons to local pastors, to read the signs of the times, and to use their gifts and talents to help build vital Catholic parishes.
If you have ideas for trainings or workshops – or if there is a presenter you would love to hear live and in person – please contact the Ministry Commission. Our purpose is to help pastors and the Vicariate Team to serve parishioners, as they journey to BELIEVE, BELONG, and BECOME Catholic disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The mission of the Ministry Commission of Vicariate V is to serve as a resource to these designated ecclesial parish leaders. After regular consultation with them, the Commission develops and provides programs of training, enrichment and development for the Vicariate parish ministers as requested and needed by the designated leaders.
The Commission is also committed to working as an instrument for communication and networking support for other Vicariates and Archdiocesan formation entities.
